Winter's coming

I haven't told you yet, but our oh-so-perfect apartment has one tiny flaw: it's cold. Some say freezing. I have a strong tee shirt wearing background so it doesn't bother me too much, but I have to admit 16°C is pretty cold. One of the main reasons for this invigorating temperature is that the unit faces south. That would be great in a European country, but we have to remember that everything here works the opposite way! In Sydney you definitely want to face north if you don't want to be in the shade all day.

Speaking of opposite ways, a good friend of mine recently reminded me of a very important question: does water drain in the other direction in the southern hemisphere? Popular belief says it does as a consequence of the earth's rotation - it's the Coriolis Effect. But then we also hear scientists say that the shape of the bathtub or sink has much more to do with it. Who to believe? The pressure of knowledge-to-be was overwhelming, I just had to run some tests. A few vortexes in the sink later, I am now positive: the water twirls in a counter-clockwise fashion in our unit. What about where you live?

But I digress...

Another explanation for the cold temperatures inside our apartment is that well, it's also getting cold outside. Being in the temperate zone of Australia, Sydney goes through 4 distinct seasons. We are now about to experience winter, which runs from June to August.

Check out my Excel skills! :)

But this is not going to stop us from visiting! We're still going for nice walks in the city or in the mountains. Hey we're even still going to the beach! Not in a let's-go-for-a-swim kind of way, but it still counts right?

What about wolf's creek ?
you may want to see the film before ... or after... actually going there.

Seems like your trip's going smoothly ! Good to hear.

Have fun.

Hi!

Well the movie looks a bit scary... maybe we'll wait until we're back to watch it. Kind of the same way you don't watch Hostel before a holiday in Czech Republic :)

Hey ... that's what my Gf & I did. Looking Hostel. Forgetting about it. Going to Prague. Entering the museum of torture ... remembering the film.

Well, there wasn't any hot chicks (except Aurore;) ) at the hostel, no getting drugged, no scary kids.

I believe that film wasn't true ;)

you should definitively watch the film .. after going there.

papa
