From Paris to Singapore

Hey mates, how's it going ?

I know, we've already been here for 2 weeks and this is my first message. In my defence, I was having so much fun I forgot about the blog :D

Seriously, it's amazing to see how different things can get when you get on a plane for a 23 hours flight. You board the plane on a cold Monday morning in Paris and the next thing you know, you're surrounded by palm trees ! Well, it didn't happen that fast. But you don't really want to know about all the movies and TV shows I watched (a lot of things ranging from Rush Hour 3 to How I met your mother). Or what I had for lunch (chicken curry and a magnum).

So anyway, after a few thousand kilometres, it was time for our 12-hour layover in Singapore. It's a beautiful city, but no one had told us the weather requires some serious training. So after a few hours walking around the city, we just had to go back to the airport, gasping for fresh-air.

And now a few facts for the educational purpose of this blog :

- The bird in the 2nd picture is a Javan Myna. Quite common in Singapore, they are apparently pretty annoying. It's one of the few species of birds that people can kill without breaching the law.

- The 5th picture was shot inside Lau Pa Sat, the main food centre of the business district. You'll notice the typically Victorian iron structures.

- In the last picture, you can clearly see one of the UFOs from Independance Day.

Well, enough for today. But I can already tell you that my next post will be about our first weeks in Sydney and will contain at least 5 pictures of furry animals.

See ya !
